Baksaei ("bahk-SY") means bird in Khmer, and you will hear plenty of birdsong around our beautiful 3,000 square metre boutique Kampot hotel - an oasis for nature-lovers and a haven for birds, frogs, geckos, dragonflies, and more. (But don’t worry, the friendly wildlife is our natural mosquito control system!) Our property is lined with a double ring of 300 rosewood trees and sits close to a natural creek leading into the Kampot river.

The owner, was an absolute delight — she was polite, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed to feel comfortable during our stay. We also found it really easy to get to with Google Maps and the helpful signs along the way. If you're looking for an authentic Cambodian countryside living experience, this place is perfect. "Waking up with the sunrise behind the trees, having coffee on the sofa on the spectacular balcony and looking at the dragonflies dancing in the rice field in front of the villas is something special. All around the colors change with the sunlight and the sunset is always unique. The rooms are really clean and extremely comfy. The kitchen is well equipped and you can also order food ... and they will deliver to you any kind of food in town and some grocery shopping too. Close to town in a wonderful oasis of rice fields and nature, I've to say this has been the best place I had the honour to stay and the owner is lovely and always available for some advice.
